History 

Windcrest is a state-of-the-art community that specializes in the care of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Windcrest Alzheimer's Care Center was designed and developed after careful study and research regarding the need for Alzheimer's care in the Abilene area. The center opened in early 1995 with 90 suites, and an additional expansion was completed in 1999 that added 30 additional residential suites.
