History 

The Wesley Court campus opened in November 2004.  Wesley Court is a private residential neighborhood nestled on 35 acres located in Southeast Abilene at 2617 Antilley Road, offering a full continuum of retirement services.  The campus currently has 35 executive homes, 78 congregate apartments, 19 assisted living apartments, and 30 private nursing care rooms, with an additional 35 acres of undeveloped land available for the construction of additional executive homes in the future. 

Wesley Court is part of a master plan that was envisioned over 15 years ago by our CEO, management level staff and Board leadership.  This team of leaders recognized the need to provide an array of services in one setting, allowing for seamless aging in place in a beautiful resort-like setting for today's senior adults.  Because Wesley Court was the first retirement setting in West Texas to provide a full continuum of services for residents all in one location, it has become the retirement destination for many.

After many years of planning and studying the market, the official ground breaking ceremony took place on April 17, 2003.  Over 200 people attended the festive event which included a barbeque lunch.

October 31, 2004, future residents and their families, SMRS staff, and many local officials celebrated with a grand opening gala.  The first residents began moving into their homes on November 1st, the following day.  It wasn't long before all of the homes were filled and a waiting list started.

Today, Wesley Court is recognized as the premier retirement destination in West Texas for older adults.  Many choices are available in our beautiful community for those looking to retire in style!
