  • Giving injections ordered by a phyician and teaching family members and patients how to administer injections.
  • Teaching diabetic patients the necessary skills to manage their disease and reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications.
  • Teaching patients the proper use of oxygen and respiratory equipment in the home.
  • Teaching patients the proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, canes, bedside commodes, and handrails.

Home Health Services can be provided wherever you call home--in houses and apartments, independent living communities, and assisted living communities.

Home Health Care allows seniors to have the best medical care available and remain independent in their homes. It is a cost-effective way to provide patients with quality care at home.

  • Home health care is patient-focused and patient-preferred. People would rather be at home than in the hospital or another type of facility.
  • Home health care helps prevent or shorten costly hospital stays and emergency care.  We notify your doctor of any significant changes in your condition.
  • The quality and sophistication of home helath care services gives you peace of mind as health insurers send patients home from the hospital sooner.

Home health care is a wonderful care option for seniors.

We are able to care for all types of patients with all types of needs. Sears Methodist Home Health can take care of patients needing skilled care as often as four times a day, because we have the staff necessary to meet these high demands.

All Sears Methodist Home Health staff are screened and have background checks and misconduct-registry checks; all are licensed through the State of Texas as CNAs, LVNs and RNs; and all have to go through ongoing training for senior care issues and updated techniques of care to ensure you have the utmost of safety, security, and state-of-the art care.

Costs

In most cases, Medicare or a patient's insurance will cover the expense of home health care.  If not, we will inform you prior to the start of our services.  Medicare covers the cost of home health care if the following criteria are met:

  • Patient must be referred by a physician.
  • There must be a skilled nursing need.
  • Patient must be homebound.

What does "homebound" mean?  "Homebound" does not mean that you may never leave home.  It means that you are home, except for short, infrequent trips, like going to church or the doctor's office.  When you do leave, it takes considerable and taxing effort or requires the assistance of another person.
