  2. What is Parks Methodist Retirement Village? 

    Parks Methodist Retirement Village is a continuing care retirement community. Sponsored by Sears Methodist Retirement System, a not-for-profit corporation with over 40 years experience serving seniors in Texas. Parks Methodist Retirement Village provides a variety of residential options such as executive homes and patio homes, assisted living residences, and several common areas and amenities including on-site healthcare and rehabilitation services.

  3. What is a continuing care retirement community?

    A continuing care retirement community offers independent living options, common areas and community areas for socializing as well as on-site healthcare with assisted living, rehabilitation services, and long-term nursing care.

  4. Are there financial advantages to choosing Parks Methodist Retirement Village rather than remaining in my own home?

    The cost of living in a community like The Parks can compare quite favorably to the costs of remaining in your current home. Over time, expenses such as upkeep, utilities, repairs, lawn and garden care, homeowner’s insurance and property taxes can really add up—not to mention the time involved. Choosing The Parks now will mean you’ve invested in the priceless benefits of peace of mind and the freedom to enjoy your retirement.

  5. Describe the Entrance Fee.

    The Entrance Fee entitles the resident to the exclusive right to occupy the selected independent living residence and to use and enjoy the common areas, amenities, programs and services of The Parks.  The amount of the Entrance Fee is set when the initial deposit is received. Ninety percent (90%) of the entry fee is refunded when the apartment or executive home is reoccupied. The Entrance Fee also assures the resident access to The Parks' healthcare center and services either on a temporary or permanent basis, as well as convalescent stays. The Entrance Fee varies according to the selection made by the resident from the various types of residences. Not all residences require an entrance fee.  A current fee schedule is available during scheduled presentations with The Parks' marketing staff.

  6. What is included in monthly service fees?

    Dining – Includes one meal per day
    Housekeeping – Weekly housekeeping service
    Maintenance and Grounds keeping
    Security – Monitoring with Fire Alarms and Sprinkler Systems
    Health and Wellness/Fitness Centers
    Health Care – Priority access to nursing services
    Utilities – All utilities (except telephone) and basic cable services
    Insurance – Property and Liability insurance for assets of The Parks (except for the resident’s personal property)
    Resident Services and Transportation – Scheduled local transportation

  7. What residential services will be offered at additional costs?

    In addition to the standard services provided in the Monthly Service Fee,  Parks Methodist Retirement Village provides, at additional costs, the availability of additional meals each day, guest meals, catering for special occasions, beauty salon and barber services, personal care services, medication management, scheduled transportation, custom maintenance, photo copying, dry cleaning, laundry service, meal delivery to personal residence, home healthcare and additional housekeeping and laundry services beyond the standard services.

  8. Describe the prominent features in the patio and home residences.

    The patio home and executive home features Include:

    • Spacious one and two bedroom patio homes
    • Beautiful two and three bedroom executive home floor plans
    • Standard and upgrade finishes
    • Fully-equipped kitchens with modern appliances
    • Washer and dryer in each patio home and executive Home
    • Individually controlled heating/air conditioning, 24-hour emergency response system, fire alarm system and sound resistant construction
    • Two car garages for the executive homes and covered parking for the patio homes
    • Private patios

  9. May I furnish and decorate my residence?

    Yes, residents use their personal furnishings to reflect their own tastes and preferences.

  10. Can I bring my pet with me to Parks Methodist Retirement Village?

    We welcome many animal friends to our community. A Marketing Representative will be happy to discuss pet guidelines with you in detail during a personal presentation.

  11. What are the age and health requirements for residency to the residential accommodations at The Parks?

    A resident must be 55 years of age or older. Residents must be in relatively good health (for their age) and meet the requirements and regulations established by the community.

  12. Describe the health care services and accommodations at The Parks? 

    The Parks is committed to helping residents maintain good health and to meeting a wide range of healthcare needs. Our healthcare services meet the highest standards of accreditation by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services and are the most extensive found in retirement communities. Our medical center will accept private payment, Medicaid and Medicare. Our Assisted Living will accept private payment only. Our specialized in-house health care services include:
    • 24-hour emergency nursing assistance
    • Assisted Living Apartments
    • In-Home Services
    • Long-term nursing care
    • Short term skilled nursing services in the Rehabilitation Center
